Senior year, as described by a few of my friends and associates, is defined by passing milestones on the way to graduation. That, and not going to class. So on Monday we completed the last first day of school and now we’re at the last first weekend of the semester. Make sense?
Now, if you know me, I make a big thing about seemingly insignificant things (just ask that squirrel that didn’t move out of the way when I was on the bike yesterday, oh wait you can’t because it’s dead). I want to savor every last bit of my college career, so I’ve marked up my calendar with the ultimate milestones of this final semester:
- Feb. 11th – The last time I turn in my first homework of the semester (no, not the last time I turn in homework this semester, though that may be the case for some others…)
- Feb. 12th – The last time I’ll look at a syllabus. HA! I never look at the syllabus
- Feb. 14th – The last time my irresistible charm fails to land me collegiate Valentine’s Day date (not that it will succeed in the future, just that the market will be closed to me. Unless of course I come a-creeping back to Newark after I graduate)
- Mar. 1st – The last time my legs will be hairy. Ever (I’ve got to be super aerodynamic for the collegiate cycling season and beyond!)
Apr. 28th – My last last last last ECCC cycling race. I’ll make sure to break my vegetarian diet and eat some steak beforehand- Sometime in May – My first last first last 22nd birthday
Folks, this semester is shaping up to be one for the books Kindles. Speaking of which, I should probably order my textbooks now…

I’m right there with you! The last time ever “looking” at a syllabus is pretty nice.
I usually just go straight to the rubric. Fortunately this semester I don’t have any exam-heavy classes. Time to coast in!
